Default Rebuild stock 98 head or upgrade

Wasn't sure how to word the title, I have a stock 98 Ls1 M6 107k and spun #6 Rod bearing so I've decided to do a complete rebuild. My question is should I just reuse and rebuild the stock 98 heads or upgrade to stock 99 or newer center bolt. Is there any difference beside the center bolt valve cover or Flow #'s, any insight would help.

Stock for stock there is a small difference if flow from your heads to the 243 heads, but if you are planning on porting/milling the heads it is pretty much a wash on which one is better...some will say the 243 have about a 10 HP potential over other stock heads.

If you upgrade to newer heads you will also need valve covers, and coil brackets.
