Default Cam Suggestion/HELP ME

I know there is posts all over the place about cam selection but i was looking for someone to tell me what a good choice would be for my car. I know choosing the right cam can be a science and i just don't have the experience to make that decision on my own. That being said, i have a 2000 M6 z28 ls1, i have only bolt ons and am gonna keep it that way for now with the exception of a cam. I have an ls6 intake, slp lid, pacesetter longtubes and off road y, and magnaflow catback. Im looking for a cam package that will really give me a good sound. I have seen the big ***** thumper which is ground for loud exhaust. I also plan on a Frost tune after I'm done. This is my daily driver so i am concerned about losing a lot of mpgs so i am wary of a cam at all. If you guys have any good suggestions for a cam that would not destroy my gas milage, give me hp, streetabilty, and not crazy expensive i would appreciate it. I know this is a specific request but i appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance!

My suggestion would be go with the tick performance street heat stage 2 cam and also go with an h pipe dumped before the axle using a 3" pipe and the magnaflow 14419 muffler. This would be a cheap setup and sound absolutely sick sounding/performing.

Your best bet is to do a custom grind cam to your current setup. There are several vendors here who could help you out. me personally i went with Tickperformance SNS torquemax 3. Martin their cam guru is a great guy to work with. Just tell him exactly what you want and hell spec out something for you.
Also i hear about Pat G and Geoff @ EPS ... So many options to choose from. Give them a call.

thanks for the quick reply, however, i just finished the exhaust on the car now so i dont think i will be changing it again just yet. That would be an awesome set up though, i have the longtubes to an y pipe, to a magnaflow 3" in and dual 2.5" out.

Haha no problem! Is it a stick or auto? IIRC most (if not all) sticks came with 3.42's. That might factor in as to what cam you decide to run as well

Get on the tick performance website and click on the cam I suggested. Watch the video clip. I thnk you will like it. I'm very picky about sound and I loved it.

Thanks for the kind words guys! To the OP, I try to stick around here as much as I can nowadays, but lately it's gotten tough to answer all the PM's and questions I receive. If you can call our shop or send me an email to martin@tick-performance I can get back to you much quicker. Thanks!

A 224-228/228 (or around that range) makes for a good dd cam. A dyno tune practically a must after a cam swap. Frost tuning is for headers, gears/stall, air/egr..ect.
