Default Valve cover bolt holes, quick question

I need to know if I can grind off a valve cover mounting tab without grinding through the valve cover.

I need to grind some, if not most of the mounting nipple material on one valve cover for clearance issues.

Where the coils mount to you mean? Or where the bolts actually go through to bolt down? Either is fine to grind down flush with the cover itself. Alot of people do it for looks anyways

Yes the coil pack mounting boss. If I grind it down flush, will I expose a hole though?
