Default Engine Rotation LS1

Morning,

Just a quick one I'm about to fit a new 36-1 reluctor wheel to my ls. Which way does the engine rotate looking from the front. Clockwise or anti ??

Thanks

Neal

Clockwise, the only engine I heard rotated counterclockwise were the older Honda engines, I may be wrong but that is what I heard.

True, many 1.8's rotate counter clockwise, always had to pay close attention when changing timing belts and checking tension.

not all marine engines.... boats with dual engines rotate counter on the left and clockwise on the right to counter eachother and keep the boat from pitching from the torque... some single engine boats normally put the captain on the right side to help keep the boat from pitching to the left but still rotate cw.. if ya see the captian sittin on the left either the boat is poorly made (ie cheap) or the engine spins ccw...

its a pain in the *** to get parts for the ccw boat engines, the cams are different due to firing order and the distributor is special aswell as the water pump and the oil pump....

^ and most boat mfg's have figured out that if you'll run through a gearbox and change rotation on one engine, the torque issue is still solved and you get to run identical engines, no CCW PITA
