Can I use this 285LR cam with both a stock shortblock and a future built engine?
So, I'm trying to pick out a decent cam that I can use for awhile. On my current car (only bolt-ons) and then when the bottom end goes. When it comes time, I'm sure I will be going 383ci or above.
Comp Cams LSR 285LR HR13. Full specs here: http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/c...csid=1404&sb=0 It has a 235/243 duration and a 0.621/0.624 lift. When it comes time for the cam I will be doing lifters, 1.72 rockers, springs, retainers, valve locks, and more.
Can I use this cam with a stock shortblock? Stock heads?
Thanks in advance!

You shouldn't have any clearance problems with that cam as long as your heads aren't milled a lot. Going from 1.7 to 1.72 rockers is not going to be a noticeable difference in PTV clearance either.

When it comes time for the cam: FAST 102 Intake, New Throttle Body, and more.
