Default Where to buy LS1 performance/aftermarket parts online?

Hey all!!

I just bought a Commodore VZ SS, hence my first LS1 engine so YAY!!

I'm planning on doing a lot of mods with the engine so expect me to be on here quite often

For now, i would just like to know where i can buy parts for the engine online. Be it performance or regular/OEM parts.
Summitracing.com is an awesome site but unfortunately they don't have much when it comes to the LS1...just 3 or 4 parts.

Sooooo....any recommendations? Would be nice if their prices arr cheap too.

Thanks in advice for your input guys!!

You must be looking at the wrong Summit. They have a LOT of LS1 stuff.

I bought the majority of my parts from Texas Speed and Colorado Speed. They have a good selection....However, Summit Racing does sell the same stuff and will price match.

I go with the best deals.

http://www.summitracing.com. The only summit. Weird i'm only getting two things for the LS1 engine.

I go to the website, then i search by make/engine. I select Chevy 5.7/346 engine. Clikc on search and i get only two things...."Mr. Gasket 3147G - Mr. Gasket MLS Head Gaskets" and "C&R RACING INCORPORATED 20-00018 - C&R Racing OE Fit Radiators"

For now i'm looking for forged pistons, h-beam rods and lifters. But i would also like to see what else is out there. Usually i get on a site to buy a certain thing, and then i see something else and end up buying 3 things.

Texas-speed has always been great for me. Will quickly answer all my dumb questions and they know what they are talking about. Also have a huge selection of parts.. Huge.

Try doing a search for a car with the same engine... like an F body (Camaro/Trans AM) on summit. Sometimes they don't cross list parts properly. If you are looking for gaskets and stuff its all interchangeable... intakes and headers and stuff might not be though. I found that when I had a 4.3 in my S-10... some stuff would be there when I searched for an S-10 other stuff would be under a sliverado 1500 with the 4.3 liter... I dunno, worth a shot. Jegs.com also does price match, I have had decent luck with them in the past.

I like using the smaller shops or upcoming shops.. They seem to give the best prices and warranties and will go the extra mile to help you out.

Some of the larger shops lose site in how they got where they are.

Easiest way to buy from summit is to use part numbers.

And since he is Australia, I'm not sure how many boutique shops can set him up with good shipping rates. I would imagine Summit can beat all of them in that regard.

International shipping, registration available for 'Bongo International' through Tick performance. click on international shipping icon. Gives a US address to send freight to, it says you can say up to 82% on freight prices.

OK just went to summit again...this time i got way more parts. Turned out the engine is 350 and not 346. Although i could have swore it is a 346 (at least as far as i knew).
Speed texas seems to be a nice site too...but shipping prices are absurd!!

Thanks a lot for all your inputs guys! Much appreciated!

Technically, a 345.7-ish....If you search on Summit, I usually pick a 2002 Camaro and go from there.

Hope you haven't bought S/B 350 parts, LS1 is a 346
