Default Steering shaft help!

So I in the process of removing the heads from my 98 z to replace the head gaskets. Does anyone have and pointers on removing the steering shaft so I can remove the header?

Make sure your wheels are straight, unbolt the steering linkage bolt and pull up and out... Might be tuff at first but just use some strength..

I removed mine for my header install and the bottom portion did not want to seat down all the way upon reinstall. Sprayed wd40 liberally on both surfaces, pulled down real hard, and it seated all the way down no problem. Just a tip.

One more thing you can use a flat head screw driver to pry the bottom portion of the steering shaft open a little more where the bolt goes across so you can slide it out.
