Default Setting zero lash

So I'm checking my pushrods length with a length checker. How tight against the rocker cup do you get the pushrod checker?

I usually lift the rocker tip gently to reach this point, so there is no tick tick when you lift it. If you lift the rocker tip too hard though you can depress the lifter plunger so be careful when you do this.

Just what vettenuts said, at tjis point you sould be able to lightly slide the rocker side to side....do it a few times and you will easily get the feel of it.
