Default Oh boy..

Compressing springs for a cam swap, managed to drop a new retainer and it's nowhere to be found.

This is the package I'm installing --> http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...oducts_id=5544

My question is, how horrible is it to use one ls1 retainer for one spring in the event I can't find it?

I would use two stockers to make sure it fits. The lock you dropped didn't fall into the motor did it?

I wouldn't worry about the new valve lock as I would finding the other one you dropped that's catastrophic failure waiting to happen!

It definitley didn't fall into the engine..one of them fell near the head bolt, tool fell onto the header, nut under the car etc...all on the driver side of motor, away from any openings. I'll check oil pan with a light when I get home but that would have to be some hail mary **** for it to make it into there.

Yes.
To make sure they match and hold the valve securely. You don't want it to pop out while running and drop the valve.
