Default So Damn Frustrated.... Help?

Did the famous LS6 Intake swap in my 2000 Camaro this weekend. Started the car up and coolant is pouring out the bottom. I couldn't identify the leak. Is there a coolant hose running to the back of the intake? I was so excited to take her for a drive but of course something had to go wrong... Thanks for the help..

Did you connect the steam vents w/ the LS6 style tubing? Sounds like you've got a steam vent leak. There are two in the front on top of heads & two in the rear. If no LS6 tubing, you can run front steam vents to top of radiator hose & plug the rear vents. Rear vents can be connected, but not essential.

The steam vent is the port on the back of the intake? There is a vacuum hose to the left and another tube coming out to the right? Is that the steam vent? I did not get the LS6 coolant lines and I did not block anything off back there... I am guessing I should have?

Are you talking about the lines that sit on top of the engine? I left them...

When I ripped my LS6 off, there were a shitload of hoses and electrical connectors hooked to it. I'd have to go back and look to see what all went where.

The LS6 does not fit over the stock LS1 lines w\o grinding or
changing to the LS6 style line that just uses the front ports.

You need to pull the intake back off.

Also it made almost a whistling noise when I started it up. Not sure if the intake is leaking or there is a vacuum leak somewhere.

You should have 1 of these blocks on each cyl head at the rear:

And this is the steam vent at the front of the cyl heads you should be using (or modify your intake):

There are also coolant port seals that seal the 2 rear blocks and the front steam vent, part # 12551933 (4 required):

okay so I think I fixed the coolant problem. But it still makes the "shhhhhhhh" noise and it runs really rough. It almost cut off at one point.

To be honest I don't know. I was in the process of taking the intake back off and I got to where I needed the fuel disconnect tool and I didn't have one handy. So I went back home for the night and started thinking and it was bothering me so I went back up to the shop, put everything back together and started it up and no coolant leak. Maybe I forgot to hook a hose up? I really don't know.

I also tightened the bolts holding the intake down thinking that maybe the gaskets didn't seal well enough but there is still that hissing sound and I couldn't find the source. It sounds like it is coming right from the middle of the intake. I chiseled those tabs off, is it possible I might have cut through the plastic and that is what's making the noise?

Will I still need to get the items ryan@ballisticspeedparts suggested?

Thanks, again. I am still in the learning process of these vehicles if it wasn't obvious enough. lol.

Are the cable cover hoses on all the way?

Probably best to have someone local look @ it & help you. This is going nowhere.

If you did nothing to the intake and have the ls1 steam pipe then the intake is probably sitting on it, preventing it from getting a good seal.

Like I said I chiseled those tabs off. Here is a video from my phone. But the video doesn't show where it sounds like it is about to cut off...
