one dead cyl.. hear a tapping noise anyway to check lifters ? got some LS6 lifters all new in the car about 15 k ago....if they are bad what is the best to replace them with ? can you check valve lift with out the engine running with hydraulic lifters ?

Thanks , havent had time to check compression yet but if it is a bad lifter any way to check the lift im getting from it without the car running ?

you can pull the plugs and the valve covers ,and slowly rotate the engine with a big ratchet on the crank bolt.have a friend rotate the crank while you watch the rocker arms move.
