Default stock ls1 oil pump?

He guys, I have a 2002 camaro z28 and ill be swapping cams this weekend. Im goin to go with the torquer v2. My question is I am definitely puttin on the ls2 timing chain but is changing my oil pump to a mellings or tsp ls6 ported actually needed for this swap? Im worried about the oil pan gasket not sealing back right after I drop it for the 1/2-1 inch clearance. Any help is greatly appreciated!

how many miles in your car? Im sure some people have gotten away with the stock pump, but its a good peace of mind supporting mod.

I'd go ahead and swap it out your already there plus it would give you piece of Ming knowing your pump Is new, pkus you wouldnt want to take all that stuff off again just to change the pump
