Default Stock power levels

so i just got my DD car back yesterday after it being down for 3 months due to engine problems...first blew a head gasket and needed #7 cyl exh valve replacement...also replaced the lifters (and trays) with LS7 lifters....had the heads reworked & milled .004" just to clean up the mating surface...go to put it all back together & fired it up for the first time....BOOM

head gasket blew again, and had a worse knock/tapping in it than before...

so i took it to have it looked, because i don't have any more time to get it done myself. turns out that there was a crack in the block (the same block i just found out was an LS6 ), and a bent rod. ordered a brand new LS6 block and sent it to the shop and had them put it all together & tune it for me.

how do these power levels compare to most stock vehicles?

engine is completely stock, the only thing done power-wise is a lid/K&N, and it's going through stock exhaust mani's with stock cats & cat-back. this is also through a Monster Stage 2 clutch w/18lb flywheel.

they put it up on the rollers (Mustang dyno) before touching anything, and it made 300.xx RW...after tweaking a little, it made 314.22 HP/326.32 TQ.

this was around 10:00am - 10:30am at somewhere around 80°F - 85°F. they said once the new block breaks in, it should pick up 5 - 10 more HP, and once the temperature gets back down to bearable levels, it should be making even more.

Yea 314 hp is about stock power rating.. Usually ls1's dyno between 295- 320 hp stock.. So I think your good..

dynos have software that corrects for weather. If you had posted a full pic of the whole screen we should have seen a "correction factor" and SAE or STD.

Numbers sound right on par with a stock ls1.
