Default comp .105 5/16 pushrod

I thought I would post a picture of the comp .105 pushrod since I have never seen one before. Very impressed with quality, everyone measured the exact same down to the .001 and has ball formed ends unlike the regular .080 rods. This is a great option for those who want a little more stiffer 17% and don't have to worry about clearance problems with the thicker pushrods.

That's not really much stiffer unfortunately. Inner wall diameter doesn't help as much as OD. And 11/32 clears and is SUBSTANTIALLY stiffer.

Yep.

I wouldn't invest the money in a heavy wall 5/16... it's almost as expensive as the Manton 11/32 and not nearly as stiff.

The other and much more costly option is the double tapered 3/8. Those run close to $400 for the set from Manton...

marginal gain in stiffness, increase in weight. i agree

double tapered 3/8 is the way to go if you plan on revving the sh*t out of the motor - almost as stiff as a full 3/8 but lighter. i'm considering that option, looking to get quotes from manton and trend once i measure for all of my lengths.

That's smart. I know the Trend is a seamless 1-piece. Manton is a three piece design. I don't know if that changes the stiffness?

I'm at the point where its harder to justify not going that route lol

Honestly not sure about the stiffness difference, that would be a great question for trend/manton/etc. My gut tells me a seamless rod would help, but then again the bulk of the deflection is going to occur in the middle of the rod so who knows if a one piece is much of an advantage?
