Default 243 heads on stock ls1, what cam?

I have a 1999 camaro ss with a bone stock ls1. The car is bone stock as well. Im picking up a set of 243 heads off of a buddy for a good price and am looking in to a cam/valvetrain swap while i have it apart.

I've never torn apart an ls1, so anything that i should replace while im in there would be greatly appreciated.

I daily drive the car, and dont want driveability to be an issue.

Also most likely going with an LS6 Intake as well.

Are the 243 heads ported? If not, I would not let an opportunity go to waste while they are out. I'd box them up real good and send to a pro speed shop first! Just my 2 cents, I'd love to have a set on my car!

Agreed^ I would port them and get them milled for a higher compression

Is the car a A4 or M6?

If you want stock driveability I run 224/230 .58x lift with the exact same heads and after the swap there was def a seat of the pants difference (will need a tune if automatic though)

Nice work. What kind of numbers did you get out of them on the flow bench?

They are 229 cc's on the intake haven't flowed them yet I have been at the race track working..these ones are for a friend I used to do cylinder heads and turbo fabrication and airflow development.. But now I work for a professional race team and do this when I'm not traveling kind of a hobby of mine.. I'd expect them to match up with other cnc ported stock slcast heads
