LQ9 Conecting Rods
So im wanting to build a boosted motor. im only going to be going 12pounds on a procharger. but with that siad im keeping the crank stock but will be upgrading the rods and pistons. before i go boosted i will be using the same pistons and rods with 241 heads. so i will need a good compression piston for those but when i go boosted i will be going to 317 heads. what pistons can i use for this and can i use a 6.125" rod?
cam i will be using is a 233/239 till i get a FI cam

If you buy an aftermarket piston set, they should be setup to take the .927 wrist pin and 6.125 length rod. Stock wrist pins are .945, and stock rods are 6.098. The piston selection for a stock rod dwindles fast if you want to go that route.
In my 5.3 I am going to run -2.2cc Wiseco Flat tops and Compstar 6.125 rods. They installed perfectly and the deck height/clearance is perfect.

I am going to run N/A for quite awhile, so I am going to hover around 10.5.1 while doing that. A happy medium to me is what the stock 5.3's come with, which is 9.5.1. Lucky for you, you have a big bore engine with a wide choice for heads to swap when the time comes to go F/I. I just have 5.3 and LS1 heads to mess with. With a $4700 long block, I can't stop now.
