Default Low tension oil rings?

So today I was talking to the guy that did the engine machine work on my ls1 block this past spring. I bought a Mahle Powerpak piston and ring kit. He told me the oil rings were low tension and that is the reason my car uses a quart of oil every 2k miles. Are any of you guys running these piston and rings in your engine? If so is your engine using oil?

I've never heard of the oil rings being especially low tension . They probably are however a little lower tension than first gen sm bl chevy oil rings but not so much lower as to cause the problem You're having . If I were You I would look on Mahles website and/or contaIt sounds to Me like maybe break-in was'nt done correctly for the rings to seat properly.
Then armed with info confront the builder
