Help with block casting numbers
I've used my endoscope but could not get a clear reading.
I jacked up the car and tried from the bottom side as well.
I managed to get my smartphone up there enough to get a couple of snaps.
The right side of the attached pic - the color is inverted - you may have to scroll right to see it --->
I think I know what it says, but I CANNOT find any block number close to it anywhere on the net.
EDIT: Removed irrelevant pic

Those are the numbers on the rear flange where the bell bolts up and directly above the oil filter correct? If so, you won't find any numbers like it on the net because that is the last so many digits of your vin number.
The actual casting number will be directly behind the drivers side head.

Thanks bww3588!!
I found my block number. 12561168
Any chance you know what this code translates to? K084 745 It was near the partial vin number. I think it's a date code, but I'm not sure.

Yes it is. I knew I had the LS6 top end - but was looking at the wrong spot to see if I had the LS1 or LS6 block - turns out I have a full LS6 motor - though some things are still iffy.
It seems to have an LS1 intake valley cover (no integrated PCV) ? That just does not make any sense - unless the previous owner broke their LS6 one and could only find an LS1 replacement ... I know for sure I have LS6 heads with (most likely) a "Thumper Cam", but the PCV on the valve covers are blocked off (but again - no PCV nipple on the valley cover ...) I'm going to add the PCV system to see if maybe that will help with the issue in my other thread. I noticed the PCV nipple on the TB is cracked (almost in half) so I think it may be pulling in air after the MAF.
