Default Heads vs NOS??? help me

Only said "NOS" to maybe attract more attention

heres the deal...

rebuilding my car after I wrapped it around a tree, all body work is done and I want to up the HP a little over winter but having split decisions on where I should take it..

current mods: 50k mile LS1 block, Lingenfelter GT-11 Cam (215/231) Longtubes, DMH cutout, lid, 3.42 gears (moser axels, auburn diff 10 bolt) Ls6 intake, P&P Throttle body, stock 241 heads. stock stall

I can't decide what I what route to go.

already plan on adding converter.. (thinking 3600) gets a lot of street driving (too big? too small?)

suspension is pretty good, BMR LCA's BMR torque arm, relo bracket, panhard bar, 315 drag radials

I can't decide 1) if I want to buy some used 243's and get them CNC'd (By Lingenfelter) or buy some Patriot 5.3 or LS6 heads

or 2) keep my motor how it is (stock 241 heads) cam, and just adding a 100 shot of nitrous (wet shot? dry shot? advantages? disadvantages?

tried to be as detailed as possible.. appreciate any input!!

Spend the money on the heads. This from a guy who went with stock heads and nitrous. For the price I paid for the spray(doing it right with the safety features and the install work), I could have almost bought a Procharger. You will appreciate the car more on a daily basis and the cost wont hit you as bad, especially when you have to refill the bottle.

I vote for the heads, if you still want more you can spray it later.

I would do heads but that's just how I would do it. There not really wrong way to go though.

Nitrous now, and heads afterward...

Or the other way around, either way will work nice..

You"ll probably be doing both of them within a few months from each other anyway.. Lol it's addicting...

Oh and I like wet kits vs dry for safety reasons..

I was thinking the same thing as I read the OPs post. Over time depending on how much you use it, mechanical upgrades are cheaper in the long run. I know I would rather have a nice set of heads or a pro-charger.

I vote killer heads, than a little spray

Spray the bitch.

With that little 215/231 cam , I wouldn't expect a set of CNC'd heads to add much power. The N20 though would probably love that 231 exhaust duration. I ran a TNT F2 kit pilled for a 150shot on a completely stock LS1 back in the day and I loved it, and it wasn't anywhere near what a Procharger costs to buy and install...not even after two years of bottle refills either.

3600 with 150 shot would be the most bang for your buck!

I went threw the same thing recently and decided to grab a nitrous outlet kit. Just seems like the little bit I actually need a lil extra. The juice will do until I decide to build another motor.

if it was mine I would do spray first then heads , adding heads to your set up would be sweet but be honest if your wanting hp spray it. A 150 wet shot will really wake up that little ls1.

When I first got my car it was a cam only lt headers stock 241s, with a 150 wet shot on it and my fastest time was 11.14 at 126mph with a drag radial

Never hurt the motor same short block I am running now with 94000 on the clock, and am at the track a lot.

This was my thinking exactly. I gotta get a window switch and finish wiring then dial it in.

so many mixed decisions..

I wouldnt spray it often, at all. but the stall might get my more hp "craving" out of the way from day to day, because I feel like it will really wake up my setup. i know a shot of nitrous would double maybe even triple the rwhp of heads.

whats the best shot to do? i was thinking 100 shot just to have a piece of mind that the stock block could handle it. but can an ls1 take a 150 shot, maybe a couple times a month?
