Default Spring Locators for Bronze Guides with Manley Beehive Springs?

Does anyone make spring locators for the Manley Beehive Springs for heads with bronze valve guides? The Manley website says the spring diameter at the bottom is .885.

I ran into this earlier in the year putting all Manley valvetrain into some cast
iron Sportsman II heads for a circle track guy. The Manley locators had to
have the inner hole machined larger to fit the bronze guide top. The locators
were hard as hell and couldn't just be drilled out........
Perhaps someone else like Comp or Crower makes such a piece it's just that
in my situation we had already removed them from the packaging before dis-
covering the dilemma and then they won't take them back.....UUUGGGHHH

Thats what I was looking at before I buy them. I would hate to go through all the trouble when I could easily buy a dual spring with the right locators cheaper. I just like the idea of less valvetrain weight with longer spring life.

Does anyone know how many miles the Manley beehive springs are good for?

There is no set mileage any spring can be said to be good to. Mileage will depend on cam lobe type, lift, and the way the car is driven.

The ones I used were surface enhanced which not only reduces stress risers
or potential cracks but the smoother surface allows oil to drain off the coils
faster which removes the heat (measured in BTUs) much quicker. This great-
ly enhances the longevity especially in endurance applications. Just make
sure to set the installed height so the spring ends up between .050"-.100"
from coil bind when @ full lift or else they will experience "SURGE"...it even
states this on the box. On my particular application I had to use -.060" Tit
retainers to get a 1.76" installed height with a .570" net (minus lash) lift
solid lifter cam. With 255 deg @ .050 my customer says it cleanly revs to
7500 rpms with only a 500 cfm 2bbl carb.

The cam I was going to use is .598/.595 so the .650 coil bind springs should fit well if I need to have .050 to .100 clearance from coil bind.
