Default What year of cam is compatible with my 02 lq4?

Looking on ebay for cams and having trouble finding out what years are compatible with my 02 lq4 motor. I'm guessing 99-06? What say you?

Actually I had been looking at stock used cams. If I upgrade I can assure you I would get one from a reputable company! Even still, I would need to know what years I should be looking at.

all lq4 years use the same cam its a standard 3 bolt style cam. most ls engines use this some of the newer ones past 06 use a single bolt style. i agree though do not buy any grinds off of ebay

Word. So basically, any 6.0 cam from any 6.0 from 00-05 is pretty safe? I would only buy a used OEM cam off eBay. Otherwise, if i were to buy a used performance cam, i would buy it here.

Any stock GM cam other than an ls6 cam is a waste of your time, you will spend more on gaskets, balancer bolt, fluids then you will the cam...do yourself a favor and get a real cam the first time...

Just for a quick back story, I bought and swapped a lq4 into my 91 suburban and it has a tick. Sounds like a bad lifter. I found a used cam/lifter/trays etc on ebay for $100 but it was listed as 03-06 6.0. Trying to figure out if that setup would work in my rig.

Or perhaps you guys could recommend what you would do? I ait virtually all of my budget already. So i cant afford a brand new cam and tune. But i could swing a stock used cam and tune.

May I ask why you need a "stock" cam? What happened to yours?

I cant say i need one, it was just that, if i could get a whole pacakage for $100, perhaps it would be worth it. I also cant say for certain that one of my lifters hasnt come apart and started eating the cam. I've read about that happening. So more of a might as well thing.
