Default can PRC 227's use 3/8 Pushrods?

are they a drop in, or do you have to modify the heads to fit a 3/8 pushrod...

anybody know before I go order a new set of pushrods?

Perhaps e-mail directly? I know that tapered prods will fit.

Even on the forum they haven't been here as much as they used to.
In any case, modifying the heads to allow 3/8 rods to fit is easy.

I'm not pulling the heads back off...its a little bit of an ordeal because of space...long story short, involves partially pulling the engine and trans to make room to get the headers off to be able to pull the heads...

I need to know a definitive answer...
do PRC 227's fit 3/8 pushrods without modification.... YES or NO....

and please stop posting if you dont have an absolutely positive answer for me

Manton has a 11/32 that will fit and is as strong as a thin wall 3/8

Actually, the thin wall 3/8 is quite a bit stronger/stiffer than the 11/32. However, the 11/32 is a great step up from the 5/16 normally run but the 3/8 tapered would be a better choice.

The answer is no. I asked that question. 11/32 or tapered wall 3/8. Be prepared to pay a LOT for the tapered wall 3/8 however, since you'll need the double taper. It's like $25 a piece for those.

My old 243's ran tapered end 3/8. My cylinder head guy says the same 3/8 tapered will clear 5.3's too. I'd mock it up and see for yourself
