Default Please help me pick a cam.

98 TA. Ls1, 243 heads, LT's, ls6 intake, auto. Street car with some track time. Possible turbo in the future. Need cam and springs. I called comp and the dude recommended a huge cam, more than I think I need for my build. I would appreciate some good advice. I should emphasize steetable.

Are you planning on installing a stall?

228/228 on a 114 would work well with that stall, make good streetable power, and also work well with a turbo down the road.

We can bundle that cam with our .650" lift dual springs and pushrods for $739.99.

Sub'd for info since I'm pretty much in the same boat. I don't know if mine will get a turbo this winter or if it'll have to wait till late spring, but it'd be nice to find a cam that'll work well in both n/a and f/I

You could use our .625" beehive spring also. You could even get away with the .600" lift PAC 1218, but if you plan on boosting it later, I would go go ahead and get at least a .625" lift spring now.

Small duration is the way to go. Low end torque plus less overlap, which is good for turbo builds.

I like that cam. It says it's also beehive friendly, do you think I would be fine with those? Sorry slow post

Thanks Beau. I was eyeing the 224 but I think a Lil more may be better in this case.

Yes, I hit on this in post #8. A PAC 1218 or a PRC .625" lift will be fine. Give me a call if you have any more questions.
