I am looking into building a 370 ci race motor for circle track racing. The only rules are iron block 370 ci max. Would it be realistic to be able to make 600hp+ ?

You can make 600 crank HP with a 370, especially with a Super Victor, high flowing heads, and a big cam.

How much rpm are you willing to turn? How broad a powerband do you need?

This 1/4 mile dirt oval or half mile asphalt?

shouldnt be very difficult. ive got a 370 with stock ls3 heads and a big cam making around 500 rwhp thru an auto. Figure manual transmission, better heads and potentially a solid roller cam instead of hydrualic. 600 easy

I'm running a 370ci iron block with PRC 5.3 heads, big cam, LS6 intake, and i'm not really sure what it will lay down on a dynojet. 450-475 rwhp would be my guess. This is a real budget setup, so a better HCI combo, over 500 rwhp should be quite easy

1/4-3/8 mi Dirt. looking for something that can turn 7500-8000 rpm.

Max out the bore and destroke it. The engine wont have to work as hard and will make more top end power.
