Default 5.3 cam swap

Ok guys and ladies I'm doing another swap but have some concerns. Right now I have hot cam with 550 lift and will be swapping to 236/242 .580.590 112. This cam is a regrind and has a smaller base circle! And requires 7.5 rods but being that my heads are milled .015. What size push rod will I need!

Measure, every car is different and I wouldn't want to guess what size push rod is needed. Only way to do it right is measure.

Why do you say that? Its real easy to check the length you need.

Well your vehicle will be down even longer if you have a valvetrain failure due to improper pushrods.

212/218s are common on the 5.3s and do well. There is a huge selection with cams and no one wants the same thing as another person, so it’s not easy to find what you want from other people’s opinions. You might want to call a performance shop and have them spec one out for you.
