Well I've been looking around for a LS motor to put in my 51 chev truck. I have a 99 or 2000 5.3 coming that has issues, what I don't know but it's dirt cheap. My plans were to tear it down and inspect to see why they pulled it from the truck. Got a line on a 2000 4x4, std shift 2500 trk today, 130,000 miles, hit in the front. It's a 6.0 that I could get eng, wiring and computer out of plus brake booster, pedals and a few other things I'll need. What would this 6.0 need to get the most out of it? I'm going to run a PG trans, 3500 conv, and around a 3.50 rear gear. The earlier heads weren't that good were they? I would like to make some good hp, NA, on pump gas.
