Default I want more hp out of 408. looking to procharge.

I have a 2000 ss with a tsp 408 putting out 521rwhp. in the future I want to up my horsepower and wanting to do it by procharging it. im currently running 11:5 compression and I want to get down to a safe compression ratio to run 8-10 lbs of boost. I was wondering if I could get away with bigger combustion chamber in my heads to get the compression down to a safe ratio. they are currently at 62cc. anyone with some useful information would be great. wanting to get around 700-750 rwhp if possible.

68cc chamber would give you approx 10.8:1, a 70cc chamber around 10.6:1.

What would be the max compression he could run? He's running meth, and for the sake of argument, let's say he's running 93 octane.

Im assuming you are at 11.5 with a -8cc piston and being .003-.004 out of the hole with a .051 gasket. Thats a pretty common setup. If so, you can run a .060 gasket and 70cc head and get about 10.3:1. You should be able to get the 8-10lbs you are looking for.

that's exactly what I wanted to do was bigger combustion chamber and thicker gasket. can you all do the machine work on the heads since they are prc and what ball park estimate cam would I need to go with. specs on mine are 239/247 624 624 114.

You would have to go with a different head. We wouldn't be able to take out what you have now to a larger chamber.

I'd just swap the gasket. Even 11.5:1 and 8lbs of boost would be doable with meth and low timing... Hell, folks supercharge the LS2 and they are at 10.9:1 CR. And they run 6-8lbs through them without meth.

put on a .140 head gasket and let it eat.....
it will drop your compression into the low 9's and you can then run quite a bit of boost on pump gas without problems
