Default Good time for Cam Swap!

So a while back I fixed a rear main oil leak. Soon after my stock 4l60e took a expected ****. I had a built 4l60e and upgraded to 3200 Circle D stall. I have recently discovered a very small leak coming from behind water pump. I am guessing it is coming from front timing cover. It is such a small leak compared to what I have seen from other LS1 owners, but like anything else, it gets in my mind and I will soon have to remedy the situation. I do not yet have the money to get heads and cam, so I am opting to just do a cam swap on my stocker 241's. Need suggestions and a mild cam for stock 241's and ls6 intake. Also I will be changing rear end gears to 3:73's.

Mild cams? Something along the lines of a 224 or 228r might be ones to consider

Just did a 228R with Texas speed, finally got done breaking motor in (put about 300 miles without abuse) and it is a totally different beast. It has a nice lope especially at a cold start. It would have more lope but when TSP Tuned the PCM they raised the idle for using the AC and it hides some of the lope. If you do daily drive though I would consider a Dyno tune. Texas Speed has my car running super rich from PCM tune, about 11 mpg Highway. Luckily i drive the car about 100 miles a month, if that.

With that stall I'd say around a 228r, but depends on your goals. Best bet is to contact a sponsor on here and get a professional opinion.

For a nice mild cam take a look at the Lunati VooDoo #20540711 (222/228 113lsa+4, lift .567"/.567").

...or a Tick Trq MAX stage 1 w/mild lobes, if you don't mine a little more lift and overlap.

FYI,I kept in mind your 3200 stall TC with choosing these cams.

In my opinion with your current setup would work very well with our 228R camshaft on a 112LSA. It will provide a nice gain in power, mild idle, and great drivability with a proper tune. Feel free to give us a call to discuss your setup further!

We always recommend you measure, but 7.400 is the length I would typically recommend for your setup.
