Default Need a quick short answer to help me identify something

I'm taking my driver side valve cover off, all the bolts are out, but there's a pipe on top of the cover all the way towards the back of it. What is this pipe and can I just take it off? It was a metal pipe a bit over an inch and a half in diameter. Also, does it just pull off? I don't remember it having bolts but I'm at work now so I can't double check. Thanks.

I think it's your PCV line, it should connect to your intake manifold and just pull off on the valve cover. For people to help you more easily and respond more quickly you should say what year/model vehicle you have, a picture would also help to confirm what piece your talking about.

Sorry about that, I was rushing to get it done before work, it's a 98 Trans Am. I'll try to get a picture after work tomorrow but it might be dark
