does anyone know if there is a jig out there to install these that won't break the bank? the 58 to 24 changeover to me is just another part to worry about. I think there's a sam graduate out there that makes billet 24's. took one off my truck crank 2000 lq4 long crank for reference I see the weak points with the riveted sandwich. want that new gm crank/ 20 over kit in the chevy performance book . and want to change the wheel or do they sell it with a choice? figured I'd stud the stock crank and be good to go with a bulletproof lower end good for 450 -500 n/a on the street enough to screw with the turbo guys around here. this of course is my starting point.

thank you for the thought but, I want to get away from the converter box. I say again does anyone have an idea wherei can get a reluctor wheel install jig cheap or thru gm I know it's something you don't use every day but...

When I invented (along with Alex Long) the 60-2 (58-x) TW wheel, I provided these instructions.
Place the crankshaft into your block, find TDC #1 or #6 by measuring #3 & #5 rod throw depth from the deck as being equal.
Mark crankshaft throw by scribing a centered hole through the Crankshaft Sensor mount hole.
Remove crankshaft, install the TW with the 13 tooth in the center of the scribed mark AFTER the "missing tooth" passes the sensor location in the correct rotation direction.
Lance

pantera efi, When you say the 60-2 (58-x) is that the 58 tooth? If so what is the set up for the 24 tooth? before I scrap the old crank I'm going to do some mock up on my 6.0 block to familiarize myself with the location and set up. the #3 and #5 rod throw should be at the bottom of the throw,meaning they are at the lowest point of the throw as compared to the deck on the block? bear with me . Trying to teach this old dog new tricks. I am thankful for all of LS nations help.. the oldman.....

YES, Next is the 24xe record for being at an incorrect position at 13.5 degrees, very common.
Triggering is HALL off with tooth close at the beginning though this is know as "falling edge" trigger thus the position report.
The GM ECU knows this and converts it to 1.5 degrees off, almost the same standard as my 60-2 (58x) position.
"OLD DOG" I think not.
YOUNG LAD should be a better name stated by your knowledge of GM LS-x firing order.
18726543 is most common stating 1 & 6 TDC, 7 & 4 BDC with 2,3,5,8 at 90 degrees.
Thus when the rod throw is moving FAST it is a GOOD time to measure.
