Default question about balancing

Hey guys, Im using the stock Lm7 crank that came with my block but i picked up a set of ls2 rods and L33 flat tops. Would this still need to get balanced or not? Plan on spraying up to 275 on this ad i would like your opinions and insights.

Thanks, Rob

Balancing is always a good idea in my opinion.

Is it absolutely required? No. Considering you are using what amounts to OEM parts, you'll likely be within normal operating parameters without bothering, but if you want the most power and reliability possible, I'd get them balanced.

actually, it is absolutely required in his application. Going from dished to flat top pistons and a press in rod to a full floating rod will significantly change the rotating and reciprocating weight. Probably enough to trash main and rod bearings in less than 5k miles.
