Default What other upgrades?

I've got an 02 ws6, planning on porting a set of 243 heads. What would be the best cam and what other upgrades would be best to do? It's got headers, off road y and ls6 intake. Trying to make the most power possible for the best price. Also it's an auto

Most power possible for best price do not belong together lol.

Budget and time frame to be finished will come into play here.

Ported 243's and a custom cam from PatG or matin@tick have been proven a lot on here..

Should put you at 400-420 hp and a good daily driver.

Let them design a cam for you to match to the mods you already have, gears, and driving style you want to achieve.

But "most" power will come from aftermarket heads, beefy cam, fast 102 intake, 1 7/8 LT headers.. That will max a ls1 engine out quickly...

Nitrous is the best possible performance for the best possible price. Nothing touches nitrous for price/perf ratio.

A plate system with the bottler warmer, remote opener, purge valve, all lines, all fittings, and a nitrous gauge would run about $1500. And you could spray 150-200 shot on the stock motor with the right tune. Hard to beat that.

Thinking of doing heads cam and nitrous.

Also just curious, what are the opinions on using a local machine shop to port heads vs using advanced induction?

You pay for quality and experience.. Not all port jobs are created equal.

The R&D on most ls1 ported heads is worth the cash IMO

Since ls1 specific shops are few and far betweena

Unless your local shop does LS specific heads I really wouldn't ever consider it if it were me

heads, cam and nitrous. hope you are saving for a new rear. better plan to beefen up the trans. to use the power your buying into you should get a new torque converter like a 3600 stall. also hope your bottom end is in good shape to take the power. spend the money and do it right the first time.
