Default callies crank requires grinding block, lunati doesn't?

I am planning on doing a lunati 408 kit in a 6.0 iron block.
i keep seeing posts about notching #8 piston and grinding the block for rod clearance. isn't that only with the callies crank?
I thought the lunati 4.00" crank, 6.125 rods go right in without ANY modification?

I think part of the clearancing required depends on which rods and bolts are used.
