Default ticking under valve covers

Had my PP 5.3 heads and 224 cam put in with new push rods and 1.7 yella terras and I'm getting a ticking under the driver side. Now the ticking isn't there all the time and sometimes its louder than other times. Took it back to the shop that did the install and they thought it might be the shims that came with the yella terras. They took those out. We thought that fixed the problem becuase the sound wasn't there any more. But the next day it was there again.
It sounds like its right under the valve covers and only in one spot.
Do you guys have any idea's.
TIA,
Warren

I had the same problem it turned out to be a lifter that was losing it's prime then pumping back up. I replaced the lifters and bingo...

now that I think about it I think the sound might have been there befor the head and cam job.
I need to ask Z28fiend if he remembers the sound being there befor also.

That might be the problem right there a lifter.

It's quite possible. A lifter loosing prime would be on and off. You might want to put those shims back on if you change the lifters.
