Default Anyone running forged pistons on stock rods????

I wanna hear from people running the wiseco or probe forged pistons on the stock rods, if anyone. I know what everyone says about how they are heavier and puts more stress on them, but ive heard of those rods taking some abuse. So who runs them?? What do like about them?? And what don't you like about them??

I used some forged pistons and stock rods for a friend's engine, no problems so far, but it's a streetcar. Not exactly a hardcore drag car.

The pistons we used were actually really light, like less than 350g if I remember correctly. I think that's lighter than stock.

That's good input, what brand? Do you remember? I wanna mill the heads alittle to bump compression up but don't wanna flycut cast pistons, so forged pistons with valve reliefs is a idea but I'm on a tight budget I'm gonna run the SNS stage 3 and a .040 head gasket so ptv is a factor.

If I remember correctly it was a Wiseco piston that was for Lunati. I don't think they make them anymore though. The thing with those pistons is that they were for a .927" pin, but I honed it out to .943"ish to work with the stock press fit rods.

I've used Mahle pistons that already had a .943 pin on stock PM floating rods. Once you upgrade the bolt the stock PM floating rod is a strong rod.

Would it be ideal to having the rotating assembly balanced?

Just fly cut the stockers. You will only need to take about .065" out of the pistons with that combo. People have run up to .120" cuts without a problem.
