Default 5.3 with 4.8 pistons...

Such a stupid question but for the life of me I can't find an answer after searching for 2 hours....

Budget NA 5.3 build. Looking for 11.5:1 with stock heads. Planning on swapping 4.8 flattops in. I've heard mixed reviews. Some say you'll get 10:1 some say 10.5. What's the real answer? Secondly how much needs to be shaved PFF the heads to hit the 11.5 mark?

I shaved .030" of heads and with GM LS1 head gaskets I think it was gonna be 11.25.

I search for the same thing and the most consistent answer I found is 10.5:1 with 4.8 pistons, 10.9:1 with .030 shaved off the heads and 4.8 piston. I'm using lr4 piston s in my 5.3 build as well and I'd like to get the compression ratio a little higher too. I need to look into using the ls1 head gaskets
