Default G5X2 Cam question

Right now I have the LS1 Hotcam on my car, with the LS6 Springs...

anyways, was wondering how much HP i would pick up by switching to the G5X2 cam ?? and what else would I need to change when putting the cam in, I would need Comp 918 springs right, anything else??? also how much more of a lope does this cam have over the hotcam??

thanks !!!

Do not use comp 918's. They are only rated to .600 lift.
G5X2 has .609 on the exhaust side.
Use Crane duals, Comp duals, REV duals or patriot duals.

I dunno how much more lope it has. Some of the clips I've heard, the hot cam is a pretty mean sounding cam for its small size. Difference is the G5X2 has a little bite to back up its bark

heres a little sound clip I took of mine the other day. Of course video clips dont do it justice....

Thnx. I wish I got a video of the 1st day I fired it up, open headers.....ga DAMN. Needless to say dual cut-outs are very high on my to-do list

I'm running the Crane springs on mine and they are holding up great. Many trips to my 6,800 rpm redline and still holding up great. Ordered my springs thought thunder, went ahead and got TI retainers, hardned seats and new seals as well

Same here . I only have about 2500 miles on them so far. I came across a sale that TSP had for the Crane package without the seals for $259.99 .
