Default cam for my 6.0l

i am in the process of getting my engine parts. i wanted to know what cam you guys would recommend for a 6.0l with GTP S2+ heads. is the T-Rex to big for this combo? i was thinking something along the lines of 231/237 on a 112lsa. i also will be spraying 250+ TNT direct port shot. so lets see what kinda cam you guys think will work awesome. i also will have a TH400 with at least a 4000 stall. thanks in advance guys.

The 231/237 camshaft would work well with your 6.0L, and it would have even better mid-range since you have an additional 20 cid. I can speak from personal experience that the 231/237 responds well to nitrous. I ran a 225 HP dual-stage with this cam, and it worked fantastic. I think you'd be very happy with it.

Feel free to call or e-mail me at trevor@texas-speed.com if you have any other questions.

nice!! i also forgot to add that it will be bored .040 and the crank will be offset ground for a little more displacement. would the 112 lsa hurt nitrous performance with that much shot? i also want some top-end pull. thanks Trevor...anyone else have suggestions?

I have a similar setup and i ran this cam TR 236 230 .599 .599 on a 111lsa
I thought it was going to be a little extreme but after i had it tuned , i was surprised at how well it worked out...

i know that cam will work good since a friend of mine has it, but i wanted something different. the 236/242 cam was recommended to me by craig at GTP, but i want to know if the T-Rex will be to big for my 380ci motor?

Where your heads milled and what are you running for pistons?? Are they dished?? P to V clearence? Where do you plan on shifting it? what rear gears? Give Chris @ Comp cams a call and give him your specs and what you are wanting to do with the car...... maybe he can help.

The problem with camshafts is that they are totally subjective. What one considers too large another considers too small or just right. The 231/237 will be a VERY streetable camshaft with your cubes, but you would certainly benefit from a larger cam. Our Magic Stick cam would work well (238/242, .605", .609"), and we could have it ground on a 114 LSA for nitrous use. It just depends on how much cam you're wanting to put up with on the street. If it was my engine, I would personally go with the MSv.2 (239/244) cam. It will work very well on nitrous and still make some nice power N/A.

Feel free to e-mail me at trevor@texas-speed.com or give me a call at the number below if you have any other questions.
