Default TR230 no tune??????

What can I expect, any tips to get by without a tune till I get headers. Will I be ok as a daily driver with no tune? Should I just wait till I have all the components and install and tune at the same time? Should I just go for it?

Well..

I installed the TR230 and my heads at the same time. My car idled and drove fine without a tune, but it would foul a set of plugs in 2-3 days. I didn't really drive it very much without the tune. It can be done, but expect to change some plugs..

email me if you have any questions z28venom@yahoo.com

Just read your sig.. are you gonna be installing headers at the same time as the cam.. Because you definitely won't get all this cam has to offer without headers...

what about idle will a single pattern idle better like say a 228? I need to know if a 230 will pull out a daily driver or should i just rethink it and go for a 228? My main goal is fairly simple i think, I want a decent not so choppy idle, nice flat torque and close to 400hp on stock heads. This will be a daily driver.

it more depends on the lsa from what i understand...but with an m6 it should idle a bit better & once you get tuned it should idle outstanding...Ive got an a4 & with a 900rpm idle cartek got my 231/237 to idle like a kitten, now if we could only figure out the hesitation the car would be a champ

My car is an M6 and the TR230 idled just fine without doing anything to the throttlebody..

Check the video in my sig. That was the first time that the car was ever started with the cam, and you can see that it's idling just fine..
