Default Turbo 5.3, Will this cam work or be to radical?

Hey guys, have a deal on a cam right now for my 5.3 build but im not sure its going to be boost friendly. I know its not terribly off of what ive seen people running but I want to be sure before i drop the coin. Specs are 228/228 .588/.588 on a 111 lsa. Let me know what you think.

I'd pass on that cam. If it was a 228/228 114lsa with milder cam lobe then maybe, but even then it's still bigger than you really need. I'd go with less duration, 224 or less, less aggressive cam lobes and a wider 112-116lsa depending on the cam size, boost level and how smooth you want to engine to run.

IMO, you'd be better off with a single pattern or reverse split cam, or even a very mild split traditional split pattern cam.
These cams would be a better choice:

or...

How can you sit there and give a cam reccomendation and say you need this or that when the man hasn't even posted what turbocharger he is using??

You wouldnt cam the motor the same for an On3 70mm as you would for an S475....

My recommendation, are only (rough) recommendations that I believe would likely be a far better choice than that 228/228 .588/.588 on a 111 lsa cam we was looking at.

FYI, I'm only trying to steer him towards a better (turbo) cam choice, not the perfect one.

Have a good day, LJ..!
