Default Thoughts on build

Building a lq9 402 or 408. Would the 402 be better with the 215s??
Trickflow 215 heads milled 61cc
Lunati crank
Wiseco pistons
Vindicator cam
Morel 5290 lifters
Fast 102
BTR platinum springs. Do I need the titanium retainers??
36lbs fast injectors
Will be mainly a nice day cruiser... Maybe hit the track just to see
What it runs car.
What else?? Thanks!

If you're going to rev it get the Ti retainers and 5/16" thicker walled (.116") or 11/32" push rods. My opinion on those lifters is if you're going to go cheap save even more and get some LS7s and new trays. I'm done with cast bodied lifters myself and after having a set of those (Lunati labeled/same thing) take out my engine revving to 6,500 I bought the better ones this time. The difference of the cast bodied ones to the better billet machined with larger rollers is day and night.

I suppose if you are going with those heads is because you already have them, if you are still to buy heads recommend these;

TFS-3261T002-C01

Will make you potentially an extra 100 hp on the 402 over the LS1 heads.

These maybe your best choice cause they use LS7 intake manifold for best head/intake combination;

Svede, what lifters did you go with definitely want a good and stable valvetrain.
I already have the heads so that is why I'm using those.
Anything else I might have missed?

If your worried about lifters grab a set of johnson hylift lifters. Part number 2110r. All the lifter you could ever need and it's the same lifter in the copo camaro.

Topline Hy-Lift and Johnson Lifters are two completely different companies. One is geared more towards OEM (Hy-Lift) and the other is strictly performance parts. But yes, Johnson 2110's are in the COPO.
