Default 427 small block

I would like to install a 427 small block in my 2004 Chevy that now has a 5.3L. Will my heads work with this size engine with just larger injectors? Also what exactly are the factory heads? Are they similar to the fast burn? What would be a good cam to run for this swap, Will an after market block Bolt to my heads? What heads would be the best and still work with fuel injection. I want the truck to appear as stock as possible. Thanks for any info. I am looking for as much naturaly asperated HP as possible and still run on pump gas. NEED to EAT friends dodge rt/10 truck in a bad way!

http://www.moreperformanceinc.com/427ls6r.htm

can be done cheaper w/o using an c5r block and lunati rotating assembly but it'll give you an idea of what to expect.

your better off picking up a 6.0 block and doing a 408, APE has a 408 shortblock for just over 4k if i remember right. thats just the shortblock, factor heads, cam, bolt ons, ect. and **** gets expensive.

another route is to just pick up an LQ4 and boost the bitch, some of the guys in the truck section are putting down some nice power.

A friend of mine is doing a 4.040 6.0 block with a 4.125 stroke crank. It comes out to a 423. Not quite shure if you want to drop the dough on a Darton wet sleeve aluminum block ($3500 prepped) or a C5R block ($6000) just for the blocks alone. Then you have to buy the stroker kit ($2500-3500 depending on brand). Then you need a good set of LS-6 or 6.0 heads ($2000-$3500 depending on who does them and how much you want done to them. Your 5.3 heads on a stroker would be a bottle neck. You might just get some spray or do a nice heads/cam package. That should easily handle up on a RT/10.
