Default Where can I have AFR head repaired, rocker arm bolt hole

So a rocker arm bolt was pulled straight out and took the threads with it. I bought a Timesert kit and thought it installed pretty well and looked good, but when I went to screw the rocker arm back on I realised that I didnt drill it perfectly so now the angle is off and the rocker arm is slightly hitting the head.

I cant get the Timesert out plus I put red threadlocker on it. I'm just supper pissed and done with this. I just want to know who I could send the heads to who can weld the hole and retap it. If anyone knows about how much it would cost that would be great too

you have to heat that up to get the insert out, don't know where to get it fixed though, if it was mine i would drill it out tig it up and re tap the aluminium, but you probably don't have tig machine.

Any local machine shop that is good can weld that closed, drill and tap it. simple fix.
May cost a couple bucks, but very doable.

I have a Lincoln TIG welder, MIG welder, and plasma cutter. I could probably weld the hole up. But if I couldnt even drill the damn hole straight with the drill bit practically walking itself in then I dont trust myself to drill another with no guide at all.

But thanks for the info guys. Going to check out the link posted an also start making some calls to local shops

I would contact Tony Mamo. It might be worth sending it to him and have it done correctly. Kind of a pain to ship the head but in the end it will be done correctly.

Weld it back up then set it up on a drill press. You don't need anything fancy, use a degree gauge to set the head in place on the drill press. OR weld it up and take it to a local machine shop and have them drill it. It a 10 min job.

I highly doubt it's a 10 minute job. After welding, and it has to be a deep weld to get full thread depth, that rocker stand needs to be machined flat, at the correct angle, and at the same height as the the rest of the stands.

1/2 degree off is no good, both on the machining and the drilling.
