Default 5.3 Turbo Build

Okay guys so I am fairly new to the LS motor but I came from the traditional SBC motors. So I need advice on building my 5.3 to be a turbo motor. I paid $400 for the motor out of a 05 truck that was wrecked at 65,xxx miles. It has 862 heads, I'd like to keep everything as cost effective as it can be. So let me know what you guys would do in my situation.

You should post this in the FI section. Lots of 5.3 turbo builds over there.
05 should have the good rods. Nice find.

Yup FI is your best option. Depending on your goals a sure fire formula for a fast 5.3 is:
-BW S475
-Cam and Push Rods
-Upgraded Valve Springs
-LS Car intake if space is an issue....preferably an LS6 but an LS1 would do.

Check out S13Lsx build on this forum. Though its a L33 (aluminum 5.3) you can get a good idea of the capabilities of a stock block. I too have an 05 block and it has the better rod design and LS2 style timing chain which is great for a turbo setup.
