6.0 rebuild help and question
Never rebuilt a engine before, doing a ls swap in my 86 chevy long bed. Wanted to go 408 but out of price range. 2002 lq4 6.0 block, bought its from a guy who said it was making top end noise. Thinking I should rebuild with forged pistons with custom cam and either stock 317's or 243's. 430rwhp is my goal. budget build, nitrous added in a few months also. Any ideas where to get a good rebuild kit ? What else should I change to reach my 430 goal? prob go 4l80e tranny also.

Check with the sponsors, they should be able to put together a kit for you based on your goals.
I recently picked up a set of Wiseco's for a 6.0L rebuild I'm working on as well. They're a good budget piston for use with the stock rods and have valve reliefs so you don't really have to worry about PTV with a decent sized cam.
Mahle also has a good piston for a modest budget but if you're planning on using nitrous, I'd suggest using a 2618 alloy piston, like the Wisecos. Mahles are usually made from 4032 alloy which tends to be more brittle and less forgiving to the volatility of nitrous.
