Default Do my numbers seem low?

Just got my M6 00' Vette dynoed and the numbers seem a bit low to me. I dynoed 385rwhp/358rwtq with Absolute Speed Stage II 5.3L heads, 224/.581/114 comp cam, ls6 manifold, with stock headers (waiting on the QTP's to come out). Does that seem low to anyone else? I'm already kicking myself for not going with a bigger cam, but maybe the headers will make a big difference.

I bet your car is lacking for air. When you get the headers on I bet you will notice a big difference. You are basically holding the car back with the stock manifolds.

Im not sure you would have made much more power with a larger cam without a set of headers. They will make a big difference on your h/c car. what are your other mods?

It will be a nice change of pace to see exactly what the stock manifolds are holding back once you get your headers.
Let us know the results when you get the headers, and what other mods you have.

We have about the same numbers, and I have just a cam and headers.

I agree with Ben.The numbers seem good considering the restriction from the manifolds. Torque should really pick up and a good hp gain as well.

I'm betting you will see a 20 to 30 rwhp jump with headers.

Thanks for the responses. My only other mod is the blackwing filter. The headers should be here in the next couple of weeks and as soon as they go on I'm gonna go straight to the dyno. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

You may go rich a little bit with the headers and the tune you have right now also, but shouldn't really be a problem.

Those are some pretty good numbers for still being on stock manifolds! You aren't making power because your engine is choked on the exhuast side and can't get the air out fast enough. A set of Longtubes X and catback will do the job nicely! As Joey mentioned above you will want to have your tune checked after adding the headers.

My sources told me you were doing some online investigating

Dont worry big guy! it will crack 400 no prob soon as we get the QTPs on! Im betting at least 30 rwhp taking out the stock cats and manifolds... now just to solve our great problem of oxigenated 91 octane as our best gas

Walnuts its all about the manifolds, their killin you. All that air your setup is sucking in with its mouth wide open, then you expect it to exhale through a straw? No chance. I say youll be nearing 415 next dyno session with the headers and a couple cans of good gas.

Needless to say, your car was a different beast after the ls1edit tune. a peak of 23hp gain and a usable 15+ pretty much across the board...not to mention a buttload of torque down low.
