i have i higher mileage lq4 i appears in good shape how ever i would like to change the timing set, oil pump, push rods, trunion kit and possibly lifters any recommendations on the best bang for buck parts. i did some searches in other threads i see use of ls6 oil pumps, ls7 lifters bot no reasons why, is there anything wrong with a gmpp oil pump and say a summit brand oil pump is there other things to be careful of

Believe the trucks mostly got the LS6 oil pump, careful reading about LS1s they were the first of the gen3 platform and a lot of the later stuff was upgraded from lessons learned and doesn't have the early engine weaknesses.
