Default T Chain, sprockets and damper recommendation?

OK I got the front cover off and my 6.0 L block is drilled for a chain damper!

What adjustable sprockets, chain and damper do you recommend for the best timing on a boosted 370" Gen 3 block?

IS the LS-2 chain damper the way to go since my block is drilled?

As important as cam timing is on a boosted motor I am thinking of getting the Cloyes hex-adjust....
All these threads I have been reading makes me wonder if the cloyes set up has the real IWIS chain or not?

Cloyes Hex-a-just gears (w/ Torrington bearing) C5R or Hinson C7R seamless timing chain, and ATI or Innovators West for the Damper. Pin it added security.

Did you measure the holes? Gen 3 motor... May very well be drilled for the EXPENSIVE LS6 damper. Measure and confirm it is indeed for the LS2 damper.

Any idea where I can find the bolt hole width for the LS2 and LS6 chain dampener?

As he said!

Extreme duty C5R chain or the new Hinson C7R

If you have the older style block (LS6 damper spacing), get the trickflow adapter and run the LS2 damper. Overall a good bit cheaper. What I did on my LS6.

It's a flat bearing that fits behind the cam gear, and in front of the cam retainer plate.

I have run a few different combos over the years, but I too now run the Cloyes Hex-A-Just gears, C7R chain, LS2 chain damper and ATI Harmonic damper.

So the Cloyes 9-3158A has the thrust bearing and is around $160.00 and the older style Cloyes 9-3153A does not but is around $110.00 but both have the LS2 chain. The Cloyes 9-3158AZ has the "Z" chain which may or may not be different than the C5R chain that Katech sells.
I'm trying to cut some cost from my cam upgrade but want to dial in my advance in a way that a set with only a adjustable sprocket can not do. I guess what I'm asking is "is a thrust bearing worth a extra $50 when the cam retainer plate is what is actually controlling cam walk" ?

As for the damper spacing (to help future searches) 12588670 = narrow black 1.762 for LS2 88958607 = tan (older) 2.187 for LS1/LS6
The part # for the TrickFlow adapter is TFS-K30675600

If it's any consolation I ran a regular LS2 chain in the Camaro. Numbers in sig (460/420) and wasn't worried a damn bit.

Spend the money on a quality damper if you're worried. I haven't seen an IWIS chain break, or a C5R for that matter. And honestly, I haven't seen anyone break an LS2 that was a street car. They might be out there, but I haven't read about it.

The LS2 is stout. Just look at the pics of them side by side with the ls1.

I've used the Rollmaster timing set with the IWIS chain and a Fluidampr with keyway.
