Question Oil in the crank bolt area??

What do you think this could be? When I installed my new cam, when we took the crank bolt out to take the pulley off, it looked like there was oil on the end of the bolt on the threads, not sure if it was oil, but it the end was dark, and the rest of the bolt was normal silver color. I back the bolt out right after we installed the cam and I took a test drive, so we used a lot of lock tight and it's stayed in so far.

Thanks in advance.

Oil will usually walk its way up to the bolt head, normal behavior. A thin smear of RTV silicone on the flat surface of the head bolt, where it seats against the balancer, will stop it there.

Awesome, I will have to do that, but I thought the bolt already has a type of sealent there, that orange stuff? I really appreciate it, I'm just glad it's normal and not something messed up
