Default Stock heads?

Just out of curiousity, im getting my long tubes soon and was wondering what the best cam i could get for the stock heads would be. I might just go with a H/C package, but i was wondering how much power would be possible off the stock heads, keeping it streetable. I'd like to see 400, is that possible without the H/C?
Thanks alot
Bryan

Lots of threads lately about this. I went with the LG G5X3, it's a big cam, so if you are scared about that it may not be for you, easily 400 RWHP+ with this cam. I love mine, runs VERY strong! I am using stock heads too.

I'm not that worried about driveability or gas mileage right now... i just dont want to destroy my engine or my trans. I'd like a really mean sounding cam that will kick my friends TT Rx7's ***. Right now we're too close for comfort.

I put AT LEAST 100 miles a day on my G5X3, while sometimes 150-200... it gets great mileage on the freeway (27.6 average on a road trip), it drives awesome, I run the A/C ALL day here, and the powerband is unmatched by ANY cam so far to my knowledge... I dont think you will find a better cam out there with all the characteristics of the X3... and most people regret going with a smaller cam! If you can, get a ride in a car with an X3 and you will make up your mind VERY quickly!

Amen to that Mike!! If you have a M6 then the X3 is the way to go, A4 go with the X2. The X3 sounds incredible, I sit there and just listen to it sometimes, just puts me in awe. I was so undecided on this cam, and I went for a ride in Mike's car (SS on Your Six) and that ended my decision, I ordered it right away. Now I kick my self for even thinking twice about the cam, try to find someone to get a ride and you will see the light

The X3 is pretty big for an automatic, you probably could run it but it would hard to tune and get to run right, just think of running the TREX in an Auto car, it's possible but needs work to get it right. We have a guy that has an X2 in an auto car and it runs perfectly. No one really knows the specs on these cams, rumor has it that the X2 is in the .600-.605 lift and the X3 is in the .620 lift area.

Specs are unlisted... but honestly does it matter if the cam is EVERYTHING you wanted? Theres a local guy here that, in 105 degree heat, ran 10.8@128.5 mph accidently letting off the gas out of hte hole! Thats a full weight auto Trans Am that even has a indash DVD player and uses a pushhandle to drive! He runs a X2, GTP heads and a 150 shot... car starts fine with a remote start, runs the A/C with no problem and even has NO surging at 1000 rpm in OD !!!!

Between the X3 and the X2, which has better driveability between the two? Also, which one has the best tq curve? Also, one last question, how much would one of these cams shake the car on a 114? Just asking becasuse on my previous car, I had an FM-11 112 w/ x pipe dumped at the axle and it shook the hell outta the car. I don't mind a little bit of a shake, just trying to not get too crazy. This car will be retaining the Y pipe set-up w/ my GMMG exhaust.

at a 1000 rpm idle my car doesnt shake... I enjoy ice cold A/C, no drivability issues whatsoever etc... I prefer the X3 114 over my X2 112 because of how hard it pulls. The powerband is better IMO on the X3, however the X2 does come in earlier... but the X3 will make more power overall at any RPM above 3500, while VERY close to the same below that.

Just remember, the X3 is a new version to replace the X2, meaning it has all the X2 high points, only MORE power and better drivability!
